We work exclusively with raw rock purchased directly from quarries and mines.

From that point on, until your stone is delivered to you, we take care of everything.

It’s this traceability that enables us to ensure you 100% authentic stones.

Why am I sure to receive a beautiful stone?

Simply because a stone cannot leave our workshop without meeting all the criteria of a beautiful stone.

Our criteria are extremely strict to ensure that you always receive the most beautiful stone possible.

Each stone is scrupulously examined from all these angles by hand when it is selected, and again before it leaves our workshop.

The (ethical) advantages of family business

In Madagascar, life isn’t easy, to say the least… Poverty is still very present for the majority of the population, and it’s not always easy to feed oneself properly. That’s why many Malagasy lapidary craftsmen accept the excesses of the big players in the industry: (they’ve often never known anything else, by the way)

blatant lack of safety in workshops and mines (no protection, no helmets, dangerous machinery…)no protection against stone dust (which causes respiratory illnesses)Violations of human dignity (delays and even refusal to pay wages, without reason).Cruel instability (there is no right to work in Madagascar… you can lose your job overnight for no reason).

Because we ourselves have suffered from this system, we decided to fight against it with Eusice.

In our workshop, we have set up :

personal protective equipment (cut-resistant gloves, masks, etc.)a first-aid kit (sounds crazy, but it’s the first time our craftsmen have seen this)safety standards inspired by European standards (we built the machines ourselves because we weren’t satisfied with what was on offer locally!)job stability & access to training (our production methods require real expertise)

Since our aim is to design A contrarian approach to changing the stone industrythe most exceptional stones possible, we don’t really have the same objective as other Malagasy lapidaries who seek to produce large quantities quickly.

So it would have been very surprising if we had worked in the same way…

…and as you can imagine, we like to do things our own way!

At Eusice, when the craftsmen want to work a new rock or a new format, they consult each other and carry out a series of tests to obtain the best possible stone:

the softest possible polish,the most sublimated color possible,limited presence of natural inclusions, etc

And these tests never stop…

Simply because (my father is a perfectionist) we keep trying to improve.

And we believe that it’s only through his efforts that it’s possible to have the most exceptional renderings and the most beautiful stones in existence.

This is where Judith’s father (geologist & founder of Eusice) and his team of lapidary craftsmen work the natural rocks quarried in the region to offer you the very best of nature.
⏺ THE CRAFT PROCESS: as a small family-run workshop, our craftsmen select the raw rocks we work directly at their places of extraction. Because this allows us to do several essential things: 1) to hand-select the stones, 2) work with the 10% most beautiful raw rocks, and 3) ensure traceability and transparency all the way back to the quarries.
